Camping on the Prairie, Swimming on the St. Croix

Camping on the Prairie, Swimming on the St. Croix

It's been awhile since I made a blog update, and this next one is all about camping! We finally camped in Minnesota! It took three years to make it happen, but we finally packed our bags and got on the road for some outdoor adventure. We popped a tent on the prairie in southern Minnesota, and then spent a few days on the St. Croix near Taylor's Falls.

The prairie photos are dreamy. Wildflowers for days.

Tonks is an amazing camp dog. She stayed with us, slept through the nights, didn't bark at the squirrels, and collected as many cockle burrs in her fur as she could! I think she loves camping as much as we do. Mmm... smoky morning. Afternoon high fives! With snacks!

Sarah in the St. Croix, alone on a Monday. Kind of hilarious. My heart! Two of the best creatures on the earth, right here. I could spend days here. The water was so fresh, clean, and sparkling.

The river was absolutely quiet because it was a weekday. No boats, other swimmers, not even a single person beside ourselves in view. We took our fill of the river, floating and laughing, and sun bathed on the banks. If this is the river rat life, I think I could do it.
