People in Summer
It's midnight as I write this post after spending a few hours looking over photos. I'm tired, and I have to be up to meet some friends at a race in the morning - 6:45am on a Saturday! Nevertheless, I say this to you so that I can explain that I am WAY more excited about sharing these photos than I sound. Because it's midnight.
The colors of summer are alive!
We've had some weather ups and downs in the last few weeks in Minnesota. July 4th proved to be hot, as expected. But the days following included storms and a few days of cool weather. We had the windows open in the house and I wore a sweater to work, if you can believe it! Despite this, my garden grows and flowers are plentiful. I'll be getting those on film soon, too. :)
We're back to our regularly scheduled program of summer heat, but in the meantime, I took some photos.
Fires carrying smoke down from Canada gave us unusual, hazy skies for about a week. Sunsets were surreal. The sun glare on the floor of my house was bright, flaming orange in mid-afternoon.
These photos are from an evening walk, around 7:00pm, at Prior Lake -- one of my favorite summer swimming spots!
Before I forget to mention it, One of my photos will be in an exhibit at the Minneapolis Photo Center in September. Not any of these photos, but a different one. If you're local I'd love to see you there! Deets to come later.
